Politics and Smear Campaigns

I don't keep up with politics very much. It isn't one of those topics which keeps my interest for every long. What did catch my attention, however, was in 2000 there was a smear campaign that occurred against John McCain.

He adopted a child from Bangladesh and she was crippled. She was also very dark skinned. It turns out that while in SC in 2000, there was a smear campaign against him that insinuated he had fathered an illegitimate black child. O.o More details are here

I'm glad that this is all behind him now because that's a terrible story to have to live through and combat
